Coming Soon….The Lost Generation

The American literature votes are in. The next tour will be American literature from the Lost Generation of writers, from Hemingway and Gertrude Stein to F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ezra Pound. More details about these authors, and sign up, to come soon.

Closely tied for second were American Romanticism and American turn-of-the-century Naturalism, both of which we’ll have to do at another point.

    Hi,

    I have been following some recent tours, but have never participated.
    Are you able to participate by only discussing one or two short stories (and the author’s views on the genre)? Is this acceptable or do you feel it’s not enough?

    Awesome! I voted for the American Romanticism but this was a close second in my mind. I might have to finally tackle some more Hemingway.

    I’m so glad to hear all the excitement for the tour!

    Em, discussing one or two short works is fine! I try not to make too many rules here — just write about a work in the time period/or by the selected author and if it’s a short work, that’s fine too. I think it just so happens that many of these classic writes have LONG works, and those are the ones selected since they are well known.

    Yes! I have a pile of Fitzgerald in my sidebar right now just waiting for me. Can’t wait! But then there is also Ford Madox Ford and Ezra Pound too. Just too many choices! Hmm.
